The Structural General Plan (PGE) of Albalat dels Tarongers (Valencia) has taken a significant step towards final approval with the issuance of the Strategic Environmental and Territorial Declaration (DATE) at the meeting of the Environmental Assessment Commission held on June 15, 2026. The declaration requests minor corrections that do not substantially alter the content of the plan; on the contrary, they confirm the established growth model. This plan is characterized by its organization of a complex and highly varied territory, where the legacy of the previous planning still weighs heavily and conditions any potential initiatives.
In an area with an excess of scattered housing developments and isolated dwellings on non-developable land, most of which are awaiting regularization, the new General Urban Development Plan (PGE) proposes a rationalization of the model. To this end, it focuses on consolidating existing urbanized land rather than proposing new developments. In other words, it establishes itself as a benchmark for new urban planning by advocating zero growth on designated land.
Following the issuance of the Territorial Planning Document (DATE), the AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP team is already working on implementing the necessary minor changes in order to deliver the Final PGE Proposal to the developer in the last quarter of this year.
