THE MASTER PLAN OF ALPUENTE WINS THE SPECIAL DISTINCTION FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN PLANNING, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE 2025 COACV ARCHITECTURE AWARDS

The Official College of Architects of the Valencian Community (COACV) has awarded the Alpuente General Plan (Valencia), drafted by AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP, the SPECIAL DISTINCTION FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN PLANNING, within the framework of the 2025 COACV ARCHITECTURE AWARDS. The jury’s minutes state the following:

“The Jury highlights its special interest as a planning instrument for the rural system, addressing a small, delicate, detailed urban morphology, in whose planning a well-articulated protection of the extensive and valuable cultural heritage and a considerable integration of the existing urban centers and the elements of great environmental and landscape value that it contains can be seen. surrounding it.

The recognition of the rural system, which provides the environmental and ecological resources and services that allow for the proper territorial balance of the Valencian Community as a whole, is positively appreciated. The Plan favors the economic performance of the municipal rural area and the enhancement of its ecological role, its cultural and landscape heritage, all focused on improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.

It is considered a good example of general planning, with great involvement and collaboration from the population, even integrated into the drafting team itself.”

The award, presented by María Teresa Broseta Palanca, president of the Association of Urban Architects of the Valencian Community, was accepted on October 3 by Víctor García Gil, urban architect and director of the drafting team, at the COACV’s annual gala, held at the Caixa Forum building in Valencia.
